Immortal Blade
Play the journey of an immortal samurai who sacrifices a fragment of his soul to be resurrected from the dead and gain powers by doing so. This is a Samurai duel game which currently consists of 3 duels. There is a sacrifice soul screen which appears when you die which i took inspiration from the 3d beat'em up game Sifu. In this screen you sacrifice one of your stats(health, damage, speed) and exchange with another stat. For example, when you click on one of the red health boxed first and then a white damage box, your health is decrease by 10 points and your damage is increased by 10 points.
There is a parry and blocking mechanic in the game which must be performed according to the opponents attack type. i.e. if the enemy attacks with a downward slash, you could only block with horizontal block, it he attacks with sideward slash you should block with vertical block. When an attack is blocked, enemy is recoiled back
Parry works the same way. The only difference is opponent is stunned for a second when an attack is successfully parried.
You can't block or parry an upward slash, you can only roll dodge out of it's range.
All the attacks of the opponent ara telegraphed, which means a warning text will appear just before the attack for you to decide your action.
Controls:
Movement: WASD and Arrow keys
Downward slash: z
Sideward slash:x
Upwards slash: c
vertical block: ctrl + w or up arrow
horizontal block: ctrl + a or left arrow
vertical parry: e
horizontal parry:q
roll: left shift
Developers Note:
This game is developed only by me. I wanted to make a 3d game first and lost a lot of time with it, then decided to make a 2d duelling game. I uploaded the same game for the Samurai Jam but it has more bugs and missing the soul sacrifice mechanic. The game is pretty rough right now, you may encounter a lot of bugs and it is uncomplete. I ran out of time before fixing many bugs and completing missing features of the game. Game is still under development and i will upload a post jam version when i complete it. Forgive me if my game frustrates you and thanks anybody in advance for playing my game
